Our Story

Listening to Experts

We set our course with SME interviews and surveys

Before we even begin writing a course, we survey a wide range of subject matter experts who currently teach the course. From these surveys, we gather a wealth of information, including:

  • Key topics anyone who takes the course should learn
  • Concepts that give their students the most trouble

We use this information to develop a rough outline of the map the course should follow. The course objectives are shaped to highlight these key topics and to focus on the concepts students have difficulty understanding—the Critical Path.

We take direction from customers in the field

At MHOL, we work every day with instructors, instructional designers, program coordinators, and school administrators to modify courses, incorporate suggestions, and even add to our ever-growing list of new courses and programs in development. This knowledge doesn’t just go into a vacuum; we use it to alter the route of current courses and to improve courses in the pipeline even as they are being developed.

Guided by national standards

It’s our business to keep up with national educational standards, both the formal accreditation guidelines and the less formal best practices. You can work with our instructional design and education experts to ensure that your courses and programs stay on track with all appropriate requirements.

We constantly reassess our position

Each of our courses undergoes continuous monitoring through end-user surveys and small focus groups. We question administrators, instructors, students, and even technology personnel to refine our content and identify best practices so that our courses maintain the best possible balance of quality content, rigorous assessments, and ease-of-use. In this way, we keep the path as clear as possible for our customers.
